By Aparna VermaThis is what one can call a typical girly flick, with a bit of everything in there.
Its about single women desperately trying to find the “right guy” through all possible sources and methods and formulae ( Drew Barrymore & Ginnifer Goodwin ). A married woman (Jennifer Connelly) unable to keep her marriage going, while she doubles up as a love counselor to one of her colleagues. Then there’s the other category of committed live –in relationship ( Jennifer Aniston & Ben Affleck) not going the marriage way, and an extra marital affair( Scarlett Johansson & Bradley Cooper ).
I cannot really say how many of us would actually identify with any of those characters, because unlike the West we do not have an obsession with the whole dating circus.. where you have to be dating someone to be socially active.. where being single is “uncool”.. or that’s what its made out to be.

Its not a guide to love as many may think, since its based on a book of the same name. All that it tells you is that no relationship is similar to the other… that normal people can be the fairy tale exceptions to the “rule”, or probably there are no rules at all.
Watch Drew Barrymore and Ginnifer Goodwin go through the drill of finding a "soulmate", being ditched by various men by various means(my space etc) in the process. Jennifer Connelly who is more disturbed about her husband's (Bradley Cooper) smoking habit rather than him sleeping with another woman( Scarlett), who on the other hand seeks comfort in her boyfriend ( Kevin Connelly) only as a feel good factor. Finally you have Aniston & A ffleck uniting after their dilemma over marriage v/s live-in.

Ups:
In the end, each one of them have their own “happy endings”, with singles finding their “love”. The unhappily married getting separated and finding happiness in living alone. But what I liked best was Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck’s story.
- Actors for sure. When you have Jennifer Aniston and Connelly and Scarlett and Ben Affleck and Drew Barrymore in one movie, why miss it.
- Story: all repetitive but still who doesn’t like watching romantic comedies.
- Direction/Editing is good.. managing so many interconnected stories is some job.
- Nothing really. Not that it’s a great cinema, but one cannot be overanalytical about such light hearted movies.
