Ill be honest ;I am a huge fan of Scorcese and Leo. In fact, since the time they started pairing up, their fan quotient have just risen. Gangs of New York, The Aviator and The Departed. Scorcese's talent of turning a seemingly passive storyline into a spool full of gripping imagery, tight narrative and almost skittish plot makes me his die-hard recent fan. He is a master of his craft and his latest film Shutter Island is his testimony in action. Shutter Island excels in creating an aura of detail that Scorcese is so famous for. It intrigues, challenges and then demystifies, all in about of a thrilling drama and, hence, a superb cinema. This is a thrilling feat and an all out watch.Ups:
- Scorcese, scorcese and scorcese - His execution is ingenius and so his respect for Leo. He handles Leo like no other and he makes the cinema so endearing that despite its dependence on climax, the unfolding of this mystery itself is highly gripping. Kudos to this genius. Heres to many more.
- Leo - Bias or no bias, his talent is undeniable and he just does it again and again and again. His boyish charms do no harm to his serious renditions and in this movie, he discovers himself all over again
- Script : It isn't meant to confuse but it isn't meant to simplify itself either. It holds you by your brain and keeps you guessing. It meanders but somehow leads you to its climax. Even the last dialogue in the film, leaves you to believe whether you have really understood the character (of Leo). Such and more makes this movie a must see.
Watch it for Leo, watch it for Scorcese. And if you know neither, watch it for it is a fascinating cinema.

Good review ..nothing really given away that reduces the reader's watch pleasure .. well when i first saw the movie, i didn't know it was a scorcese film but as it finished and the name flashed ..i took a bow !!!
